A social value survey from Loop<\/a> will pinpoint where the wider industry stands on the subject and areas for improvement<\/h2>\n

When analysed, the survey results will reveal how much organisations are focusing on social value and their approaches.<\/p>\n

Data will also be gathered on the relationship between social value, procurement and tender processes.<\/p>\n

Respondees will be asked about the personal impact of social value<\/h3>\n

The survey will delve into individual mindsets, gaining an insight into how social value impacts people\u2019s day-to-day job roles \u2013 and how knowledgeable and prepared they feel for working in this realm.<\/p>\n

A crucial question will also examine the figures attached to social value measurement, and whether monetised values are important \u2013 and if they are at risk of overinflation.<\/p>\n

Angus Townsend, director of social value at Loop, said:\u00a0\u201cThe sheer scale of the built environment means there are people at every stage of the social value journey. What we want to do is see what this looks like on an industry-wide scale and get a picture of understanding and drive for social value<\/a>, as well as where things can be done better.<\/p>\n

The survey results will reflect how social value has changed in construction in the last decade<\/h3>\n

\u201cSince the Social Value Act was introduced ten years ago, there have been growing developments with numerous pieces of legislation<\/a>, government procurement policy notes and a big focus on social value in the Construction Playbook<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cMomentum is growing significantly, especially as we continue to adapt to a post-pandemic world while tackling the climate crisis<\/a>. This can even be seen in the volume of Google searches for \u2018social value\u2019 for example, which have more than doubled in the past five years.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur mission is to help organisations understand social value<\/a>, measure the impacts they have, continually improve and make a real difference to real people. We look forward to seeing the results of this survey \u2013 we know they will be incredibly eye opening for us all.\u201d<\/p>\n

You can answer the survey online or in person<\/h3>\n

The survey, found here<\/a>, will be open to responses until Friday 26 May, and attendees at the UKREiiF conference in Leeds will be able to submit responses at Loop\u2019s \u2018The Future of Social Value\u2019 Pavilion at the Royal Armouries.<\/p>\n
