Katy Dowding will take over the role in early May, after current president and CEO of Skanska UK<\/a> Gregor Craig retires<\/h2>\n

A member of Skanska UK\u2019s executive management team, Katy Dowding, will take up her new role as president and CEO on Tuesday 2 May.<\/p>\n

The appointment follows the retirement of Gregor Craig<\/a> after a six-year stint as president and CEO.<\/p>\n

The appointment is a significant milestone in Katy’s 20 year career<\/h3>\n

Since 2017, Katy has held the role of executive vice president, responsible for Skanska UK\u2019s building and building services businesses. She was also managing director of Skanska UK\u2019s facilities management operation for five years.<\/p>\n

She is also a member of the Skanska Costain STRABAG joint venture board, overseeing the delivery of the London tunnels section of HS2.<\/p>\n

Katy is well known for her inclusive style of leadership<\/h3>\n

Katy sits on the industry-level Construction Productivity Taskforce and previously held the role of Chair of the National Association of Women in Construction<\/a> for eight years.<\/p>\n

She is also the executive sponsor of Skanska UK\u2019s Women\u2019s and Pride employee networks.<\/p>\n

Commenting on her appointment, Katy Dowding added: \u201cI\u2019m honoured and excited to be given the opportunity to lead Skanska UK. It\u2019s a fantastic business with hugely talented people who help our customers to deliver successful projects and a lasting legacy for society. The Skanska Group CEO praised Katy’s predecessor Gregor Craig<\/h3>\n

Adam McDonald will succeed Katy as executive vice president for Skanska UK\u2019s building and building services operations.<\/p>\n
