rel=\"noopener\">Galliford Try Highways<\/a> has been appointed to new active travel corridor projects for Sheffield City Council and Stoke-on-Trent City Council<\/h2>\n<p>As part of the active travel corridor projects, a total of three schemes will be constructed in Stoke-on-Trent, which are intended to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bentley.com\/software\/roads-and-bridges\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">improve connectivity across the city and develop a properly connected sustainable transport network.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In Sheffield, an active travel scheme will also transform the city centre and the area known as the Nether Edge Wedge.<\/p>\n<p>Together the contracts are worth \u00a330m and are funded as part of the Transforming Cities Fund (TCF).<\/p>\n<h3>Delivering multi-modal transport facilities in Sheffield and Stoke<\/h3>\n<p>The active travel corridor projects aim to deliver multi-modal transport facilities for the cities, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>improvements in walking and cycling with new cycling provisions<\/li>\n<li>reduction of traffic flow and congestion, with carbon and environmental benefits, to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/energy-news\/how-systems-thinking-approach-boosts-infrastructures-climate-resilience\/124691\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">deliver greener infrastructure.<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>David Lowery, managing director of Galliford Try Highways, said: &#8220;We are delighted to be able to strengthen our portfolio with the Stoke and Sheffield TCF
