This can help companies reach multiple sustainability targets at both the asset and portfolio levels. By encompassing sustainability targets, fund strategies, and property, the framework enables a tailored approach to upgrades throughout the entire lifecycle of assets.<\/p>\n<p>This sustainability framework provides assistance in managing upgrades, working closely with project teams, and engaging with occupants to meet sustainability goals. These goals include achieving <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/guidance\/domestic-private-rented-property-minimum-energy-efficiency-standard-landlord-guidance\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards<\/a> (MEES), reaching net zero emissions, and participating in initiatives like <a href=\"https:\/\/bregroup.com\/sectors\/solutions-for-construction-sector\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NABERS<\/a>. The framework also includes ongoing monitoring to ensure effective governance practices are maintained.<\/p>\n<h3>Rethinking approaches to retrofitting<\/h3>\n<p>The framework leverages both retrofitting and collaboration with occupiers to achieve goals through an asset\u2019s lifecycle. This approach is important as there is a growing realisation that a retrofit is not the ultimate solution as anticipated.<\/p>\n<p>Instead, consistent collaboration with a broader range of operational stakeholders, particularly occupiers, has become important in bridging the performance gap and reaching net-zero targets. This collaboration not only reduces energy consumption and costs but also ensures a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/energy-news\/sustainability-in-infrastructure-cambridge-university-press-and-assessment\/127152\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sustainable and efficient outcome<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>The sustainability framework can improve EPC ratings<\/h3>\n<p>\u201cThe real estate sector has been heavily focusing on MEES legislative changes of late; however, it\u2019s important to note that this does not future proof against energy costs or emissions.
