{"id":127830,"date":"2023-06-08T10:13:40","date_gmt":"2023-06-08T09:13:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=127830"},"modified":"2023-06-08T10:13:40","modified_gmt":"2023-06-08T09:13:40","slug":"government-urged-abandon-proposals-new-infrastructure-levy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/government-urged-abandon-proposals-new-infrastructure-levy\/127830\/","title":{"rendered":"Government urged to abandon proposals for new infrastructure levy"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>The BPF has urged the Government to abandon the proposals for a new infrastructure levy and to improve <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/guidance\/community-infrastructure-levy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the existing CIL<\/a> and Section 106 instead<\/h2>\n<p>The consultation for the DLUHC proposal for<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/the-infrastructure-levy-fixing-a-broken-system-or-creating-more-confusion\/120246\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> the new infrastructure levy<\/a> comes to a close on the 9th June.<\/p>\n<p>Pursuing a new system of developer contributions will not alleviate the existing difficulties experienced under the levy, argues BPF.<\/p>\n<p>Instead, the new levy will slow down the development process and will &#8216;result in increased uncertainty&#8217;
