{"id":130783,"date":"2023-08-03T08:46:36","date_gmt":"2023-08-03T07:46:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=130783"},"modified":"2023-08-02T15:53:22","modified_gmt":"2023-08-02T14:53:22","slug":"keepmoat-deliver-420-homes-former-mod-beaconside-site","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/projects\/keepmoat-deliver-420-homes-former-mod-beaconside-site\/130783\/","title":{"rendered":"Keepmoat to deliver 420 homes on former MoD Beaconside site"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Keepmoat has exchanged contracts with Homes England to purchase the former MoD Beaconside site in Stafford and deliver around 120 affordable homes<\/h2>\n<p>Keepmoat will deliver 420 homes on the former Ministry of Defence site in Beaconside, Stafford.<\/p>\n<p>At least of 30%(around 126) of these homes will be affordable, according to Keepmoat.<\/p>\n<p>The houses will also be completely gas-free, using <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/energy-news\/tackling-the-heating-crisis-circular-design-and-the-future-of-home-energy-storage\/126138\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">air source heat pumps as an alternative to gas boilers<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Transforming brownfield into affordable, desireable living spaces<\/h3>\n<p>Amanda Bishop, regional managing director for Keepmoat West Midlands, said: \u201cAs one of Homes England\u2019s leading delivery partners, we are delighted to be working in partnership with them to deliver this scheme. This is another flagship development for Keepmoat West Midlands, and we are very proud to have exchanged contracts on the site. The new homes will be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/mmc-news\/bridging-the-affordable-housing-market-gap-through-mmc\/130456\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">built using modern construction methods<\/a> and, working with key industry partners, we will be providing homes which are energy efficient, environmentally friendly and affordable.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt Keepmoat we are committed to building long-term partnerships to deliver high-quality homes and create sustainable new communities. Central to our plans at Beaconside is the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/brownfield-fund-transform-derelict-sites-new-homes\/112970\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">regeneration of the brownfield site<\/a> currently used by the MOD into a thriving, aspiring place to live. A key element to the development will be around the delivery of a landscaped community space that will transform the area in which people will live.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>The former MoD Beaconside site adds to Keepmoat&#8217;s growing portfolio<\/h3>\n<p>Keepmoat West Midlands currently has seven developments being built across the region from Staffordshire down to the South West delivering a total of 1,950 new homes. Flagship partnerships are ongoing with Homes England, Citizen, and Walsall Housing Group.<\/p>\n<p>To date, almost 70% of Keepmoat&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/brownfield-land-development-risks\/107481\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">current developments are on brownfield sites<\/a> and over 70% of their customers are first time buyers.<\/p>\n<p>Work is due to start at Beaconside in October 2024 with construction over a five year period;
