{"id":130844,"date":"2023-08-04T15:43:50","date_gmt":"2023-08-04T14:43:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=130844"},"modified":"2023-08-07T09:49:38","modified_gmt":"2023-08-07T08:49:38","slug":"independent-oil-supplier-partners-shell-bring-alternative-gtl-fuel-construction-sector","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/energy-news\/independent-oil-supplier-partners-shell-bring-alternative-gtl-fuel-construction-sector\/130844\/","title":{"rendered":"Independent oil supplier partners with Shell to bring alternative GTL Fuel to construction sector"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Gas-to-liquid or GTL fuel, contains fewer harmful materials than standard crude oils, meaning reduced emissions up to 90%\u00a0in particulate matter<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/yournrg.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Your NRG,<\/a> an oil distributor based in the North East, is partnering with global energy giant Shell to transition to GTL Fuel, an alternative energy source.<\/p>\n<p>Your NRG delivers over 300m litres of fuel to homes and businesses across the UK and has set targets to align with the UK&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/digital-construction-news\/data-driven-insights-support-constructions-net-zero\/118145\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">net zero ambitions<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>More sustainable- and equally efficient to diesel<\/h3>\n<p>Diesel fuel&#8217;s negative impact on the environment is well-documented, with a high sulphur content and emitting of particulate matter, both of which result in adverse effects on health and air quality.<\/p>\n<p>The GTL alternative fuel minimises these adverse effects whilst boasting the same efficiency as standard diesel.<\/p>\n<p>According to Shell, gas to liquid fuel can result in up to 37% reduction in NOx (nitrogen oxide) pollution for public transport vehicles, and up to 90% <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/energy-news\/reducing-constructions-greenhouse-gas-emissions-with-alternative-fuels\/119765\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reduction in particulate matter for other machinery<\/a> such as tractors and cultivators.<\/p>\n<p>Already established in agriculture, Your NRG is looking to expand the use of gas to liquid Fuel into the UK construction sector.<\/p>\n<h3>Other benefits of GTL fuel include:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>High-performance cetane level improving starting conditions in cold temperatures<\/li>\n<li>Readily biodegradable and non-toxic<\/li>\n<li>Noise reduction in some engines due to more uniform combustion.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Commercial director at Your NRG, Lee Reason, noted that being an \u2018Authorised Distributor\u2019 of the cleaner GTL fuel is a \u2018big step for the future fuels market\u2019 in the UK and will go a long way to \u2018reduc[ing] harmful emissions\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe believe that Shell\u2019s GTL Fuel will play an important role in the transition to creating a cleaner, greener future for all, as we work towards achieving our ambitious 2050 net zero goals.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Shell GTL Fuel commercial manager Nabeel Uddin added: \u201cWe are pleased to partner with Your NRG as our latest branded reseller of Shell GTL Fuel.
