{"id":133218,"date":"2023-10-05T08:00:52","date_gmt":"2023-10-05T07:00:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=133218"},"modified":"2023-10-30T16:16:38","modified_gmt":"2023-10-30T16:16:38","slug":"fsi-adds-ukca-quality-mark-fire-stopping-products","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/health-safety-news\/fsi-adds-ukca-quality-mark-fire-stopping-products\/133218\/","title":{"rendered":"FSi leads the way by adding new UKCA quality mark to fire stopping products"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>FSi secured the UK mark of compliance well ahead of the deadline, highlighting its commitment to high safety and environmental standards<\/h2>\n<p>Passive fire protection specialist <a href=\"https:\/\/fsiltd.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">FSi<\/a> has added the new UK mark of compliance to all its qualifying products more than two years ahead of the deadline \u2013 offering customers further assurance of its high standards.<\/p>\n<p>Although the date for compliance has been pushed back to June 2025 for construction products as the UK transitions away from the European CE scheme, FSi has already secured this for the majority of their range,<a href=\"https:\/\/fsiltd.com\/systems\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> including their Sealants<\/a> (Pyrocoustic, Pyroclastic, PyroPro HPE, and LST), Stopseal Batts, PipeBloc PCP Collars and PipeBloc PWP Wraps.<\/p>\n<p>This follows successful technical assessments by a Government-approved body, following work within FSi to provide the comprehensive documentation and control processes required.<\/p>\n<h3>The role of the UKCA mark<\/h3>\n<p>The UK Conformity Assessment (UKCA) mark has been introduced by the Government to show that manufactured products are fit for the market in Great Britain and meet relevant requirements relating to health, safety, and the environment.<\/p>\n<h3>CE marking extended to 2025<\/h3>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/industry-concerned-impact-of-ce-marking-construction-products\/131136\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CE mark<\/a> was originally set to be replaced by UKCA on January 1, 2021, which was then pushed back to January 2022.<\/p>\n<p>However, for products used in the construction industry, which includes passive fire protection, the date was extended even further until <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/ce-marking-extension-met-with-criticism-construction-industry\/130720\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">June 30, 2025<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Based in Measham, in Leicestershire, FSi manufactures a range of fire-stopping systems that are used in the envelope of a building to limit the spread of a fire.
