{"id":136226,"date":"2024-01-17T11:46:57","date_gmt":"2024-01-17T11:46:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=136226"},"modified":"2024-01-17T11:46:57","modified_gmt":"2024-01-17T11:46:57","slug":"amey-reappointed-delivery-partner-national-highways-digital-lab","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/digital-construction-news\/amey-reappointed-delivery-partner-national-highways-digital-lab\/136226\/","title":{"rendered":"Amey reappointed as delivery partner for National Highways Digital Lab"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amey.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Amey<\/a> has been reappointed as a delivery partner to <a href=\"https:\/\/nationalhighways.co.uk\/our-work\/digital-data-and-technology\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">National Highway<\/a>\u2019s Digital Lab following the delivery of around \u00a330m savings over three years<\/h2>\n<p>National Highways is continuing their partnership with Amey on the Digital Lab, which has boosted data based approaches across workflows since 2020.<\/p>\n<p>National Highway&#8217;s Digital Lab is focal to the organisation&#8217;s digital transformation.<\/p>\n<p>Through implementing internal Decision Support Tools in areas such as maintenance and planning that move the organisation from reactive ways of working to predictive maintenance, so far the project has<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/digital-construction-news\/bim-news\/streamlining-engineering-workflows-with-bim-software\/129698\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> improved efficiency<\/a>, and saved considerable amounts of money.<\/p>\n<h3>Decision Support Tools delivered by Amey include:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Incident Support Tool for management of highways incidents by National Highways&#8217; National Traffic Operations Centre. The tool simulates different incident management scenarios, enabling enhanced decisions in real-time to ease congestion in a safe and effective manner, that minimises delays and costs to the public.<\/li>\n<li>Optimised Working Windows Tool that has been adopted for forward-planning of roadworks. It predicts traffic features affecting road access, presenting results for decision support so that schemes across the network can be delivered safely with reduced disruption and costs to road users.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Using digital resources to achieve greater efficiency and net zero targets<\/h3>\n<p>Speaking on the announcement, National Highways head of Digital Lab, Kamran Ashraf, said, \u201cWe are on an incredible journey to provide truly digital services and experiences and there is a great combination of technology, data, and talent available to realise our full potential for our customers and communities.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are focused on optimising performance of the Strategic Road Network, our critical national infrastructure, and improving safety, saving lives, supporting the UK\u2019s economic engine, and achieving net zero targets. Amey\u2019s combination of digital consulting services and industry knowledge is a great fit with the Digital Lab and has enabled us to collaboratively deliver tangible value across the
