Stockton-on-Tees Borough Councils secured the funding for retrofit to be delivered in eligible homes in the area.<\/p>\n<p>Around 120 properties are expected to benefit in the first wave of the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.redcar-cleveland.gov.uk\/housing\/home-energy-efficiency-tees-valley-heet#:~:text=What%20is%20HEET%3F,one%20under%20the%20HEET%20brand.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Home Energy Efficiency Tees Valley partnership<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>The new retrofit scheme will help local authorities to decarbonise homes<\/h3>\n<p>The project will include improved ventilation, loft insulation, cavity wall insulation, air source <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/energy-news\/heat-pumps-vs-gas-boilers-tipping-point\/134405\/\">heat pumps<\/a>, smart heating controls and photovoltaic panels, with each property receiving bespoke upgrades.<\/p>\n<p>All properties will undergo a retrofit assessment to determine which measures are needed to achieve an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) C rating.<\/p>\n<p>Esh, in collaboration with its specialist supply chain, will conduct a pre-design technical survey to enable the Retrofit Designer to finalise the design.<\/p>\n<p>Graham Hall, Darlington Borough Council\u2019s head of community safety, said: \u201cThis funding will provide much needed improvement for a further 100 households across the Tees Valley.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This scheme has the potential for both homeowners and tenants to save money at a time when living costs are rising.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>Energy efficiency upgrades to be installed in properties off the gas grid<\/h3>\n<p>The Home Upgrade Grant was introduced to deliver progress on statutory fuel poverty targets for England by 2030.<\/p>\n<p>The scheme focuses on upgrading inefficient off-the-gas grid-heated homes to provide sustainable heating solutions.<\/p>\n<p>The HUG 2 project prioritises homes with an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating of D, E, F, or G.<\/p>\n<p>Low-income households who own their home can get upgrades fully funded within the relevant cost caps and do not have to contribute.<\/p>\n<div
