The proposed towers would surround the shops and raise the highest point of the Salford skyline to 241.5 metres, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/building-control-news\/a-secured-by-design-addition-to-the-salford-skyline-with-composite-windows\/132042\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">further adding to Salford&#8217;s developing skyline.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The development will cost \u00a31bn, and is intended to not only bring more homes to the area, but provide a cleaner and greener living area with the introduction of West Union Park, with its own village square and play area.<\/p>\n<h3>Creating a new neighbourhood via urban regeneration<\/h3>\n<p>MattBrook Architecture undertook the design and planning of the buildings. Founding director Matt Brook said:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur masterplan creates a safe, walkable and inclusive neighbourhood where nature and architecture work together, fostering a community that prioritises liveability and wellbeing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The height of the towers will serve multiple purposes on top of providing living space, including being a landmark for the retail park, and acting as a \u2018merging point\u2019 between the cities of Salford and Manchester, bringing the cities\u00a0 closer together visually and metaphorically.<\/p>\n<p>Brook went on to say: \u201cWe do hope Regent Park will be a real source of pride for Salford.<\/p>\n<p>It is quite a unique arrangement, where you\u2019re going to get a really good dialogue between Manchester and Salford and those twin cities very visibly coming together either side of the river.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>Bringing sustainability and social space to Salford<\/h3>\n<p>The plans were submitted by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.henleyim.com\/about\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Henley Investment Management<\/a>, whose chief executive, Ian Rickwood, said:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRegent Park will deliver a new local centre for the area, with retail, community and green space at the heart of the plans.
