The information that must be kept up to date and accessible, such as all maintenance records, is known as the golden thread.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/health-safety-news\/fire-safety-myths-vs-facts-why-a-sprinkler-system-is-right-for-you\/142026\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fire safety<\/a> doors require frequent routine inspections which often rely on paperchains of information, suffer from the possibility of human error, and can have information misplaced or go unrecorded.<\/p>\n<p>The idea of the data pins is to keep its own door&#8217;s information stored in a cloud server, and allows any inspector to easily scan and access all the relevant data for that door.<\/p>\n<p>The data stored within the pins include identification, door type, ironmongery, installation details, maintenance records, inspection dates, and compliance certificates.<\/p>\n<p>This will lead to increases in predicting faults, allowing for preventative action and a fall in rates of fire-door related incidents or accidents.<\/p>\n<h3>JELD-WEN comment on the fire safety door pin<\/h3>\n<p>JELD-WEN R&amp;D senior group manager, Glyn Hauser, said: &#8220;As one of the first manufacturers to introduce this advanced data pin system, we\u2019re advocates for greater transparency throughout the supply chain, which we believe is needed to improve modern fire door practice.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCompliance is in the DNA of every JELD-WEN product, and launching the data pin is an important step in ensuring the Golden Thread can be implemented at the very first opportunity. We believe this capability will allow for better facility management of a building and, ultimately, a safer environment for the people within it.\u201d<\/p>\n<div
