{"id":142398,"date":"2024-07-30T10:59:12","date_gmt":"2024-07-30T09:59:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=142398"},"modified":"2025-02-06T12:28:15","modified_gmt":"2025-02-06T12:28:15","slug":"citb-begin-working-construction-levy-consensus-2026-29","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/hr-skills-news\/citb-begin-working-construction-levy-consensus-2026-29\/142398\/","title":{"rendered":"CITB to begin working on construction levy consensus for 2026-29"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>CITB has announced they will begin their construction levy Consensus process to propose their new levy rates for the years 2026-29<\/h2>\n<p>The Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) has announced that they will soon begin their regular consultation with the construction industry as a whole, known as Consensus, to reach agreements on their levy for the years 2026-29<\/p>\n<p>The levy is applied to construction employers and is generally used to improve the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/hr-skills-news\/government-launches-new-skills-england-initiative\/141981\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">skills<\/a> of the construction workforce<\/p>\n<h3>Consensus will gather feedback on their construction levy proposals<\/h3>\n<p>During the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sheqservices.co.uk\/blog\/understanding-the-citb-levy#:~:text=The%20CITB%20Levy%2C%20governed%20by%20the%20Construction%20Industry,Industry%20Scheme%20%28CIS%29%20subcontractors%20within%20the%20construction%20industry.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Consensus process<\/a>, CITB will host a series of webinars for construction employers, laying out their proposals for the construction levy and then asking for employers opinions.<\/p>\n<p>This will include feedback on how the levy has served employers and their employees over the past three year period, and how this may be improved in the next period.<\/p>\n<p>After which, the data will be reviewed by the Levy Strategy Committee, comprised of industry representatives and external experts, before being sent to Government.<\/p>\n<p>This ensures that the final levy is fair and representative for all employers, and benefits all of the construction industry workforce.
