Are we ready?<\/p>\n
On 29th January 2015, CDM2015 gained parliamentary approval, and will therefore come into force on 6th April 2015. As the final version of the regulations have only just been published and the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) only issued the draft Guidances for CDM2015 on 9th January 2015; the question must be asked of all construction industry organisations, and the industry itself, are we ready?\u201d<\/p>\n

http:\/\/www.legislation.gov.uk\/uksi\/2015\/51\/pdfs\/uksi_20150051_en.pdf<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n On Friday, 9th January 2015, the HSE issued the draft text of L153 (draft), Guidance on the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015, including the draft regulations, which can be downloaded from:<\/p>\n www.hse.gov.uk\/pubns\/priced\/draft-l153.pdf<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n On the same date, the guidances produced for\u00a0the five duty holders under CDM, plus the workers, were published in draft.<\/p>\n The guidances set out, in practical terms, what actions are required of them to\u00a0deliver a safe and healthy construction project. It provides knowledge on the requirements, methods that could be used to achieve these requirements and the personal qualities necessary. The course also provides for the additional services that could be offered by the Principal Designer for advising and assisting the client with the Client\u2019s duties.<\/p>\n This course is currently being considered for\u00a0accreditation by the\u00a0Association for Project Safety (APS).<\/p>\n Course Objectives<\/strong><\/p>\n Upon completion of the course, delegates should:<\/p>\n Pre-Course Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n Those who wish to undertake this course should be familiar with and have knowledge of the construction industry and construction health and safety which is deemed to include:<\/p>\n This 2 day course is aimed at Principal Designers and Design Risk Managers who manage the requirements of design risk and CDM2015 for Designers.<\/p>\n This course is currently being considered for\u00a0accreditation by the\u00a0Association for Project Safety (APS).<\/p>\n Course Objectives<\/strong><\/p>\n Upon completion of the course, delegates should:<\/p>\n Pre-Course Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n Those who wish to undertake this course should be familiar with and have knowledge of the construction industry and construction health and safety which is deemed to include:<\/p>\n This 1 day course is designed to provide personnel who perform the duties of a Designer with the necessary knowledge and confidence in the performance of the task for full compliance with the designers\u2019 duties under CDM2015.<\/p>\n Course Objectives<\/strong><\/p>\n Upon completion of the course, delegates should:<\/p>\n This 1 day course is designed to provide principal contractors and contractors with the manage\u00adment requirements of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM2015).<\/p>\n Course Objectives<\/strong><\/p>\n Upon completion of the course, delegates should:<\/p>\n All of the courses are offered as \u2018in-house\u2019 courses, where the trainer presents the course at a venue provided by the delegates\u2019 employer, and are priced at a daily rate.<\/p>\n Publicly available courses will also be arranged for some of the courses.<\/p>\n This is the Institution of\u00a0Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) Managing Safely course, amended to make the subjects and\u00a0content more specific to the construction industry, and separately accredited by IOSH.
