Councils have more opportunity to invest to make long-term savings.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.carbontrust.com\/what-we-do\/assurance-and-labelling\/pas-2080-carbon-management-in-infrastructure\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PAS 2080<\/a>: \u2018PAS 2080 is a global standard for managing infrastructure carbon. Aiming to take on the challenge of decarbonisation, this initiative looks at material production and helps reduce emissions and costs through \u2018more intelligent design, construction, and use.\u2019 The Carbon Trust include plenty of resources to help industry leaders realise their carbon- and cost-cutting potential.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Investing in a safer future<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wj.uk\/services\/surface-treatments\/retexturing\/#:~:text=Retexturing%20solutions%20effectively%20improve%20skid%20resistance%20and%20extend%20the%20life%20of%20road%20networks.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WJ and highway retexturing<\/a>: the low-carbon option for treatment of SCRIM deficient roads is also cheaper, quicker to work with, and helps extend the life of road networks. Insufficient skid resistance often <a href=\"https:\/\/road-safety.transport.ec.europa.eu\/european-road-safety-observatory\/statistics-and-analysis-archive\/roads\/road-and-pavement-maintenance_en#:~:text=Moreover%2C%20if%20the%20SFC%20of,the%20surface%20or%20first%20snowfall.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">makes roads up to a few hundred times more likely to cause accidents.<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cortecvci.com\/Publications\/Brochures\/MCIBrochure\/MCI.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Corrosion inhibitor technology<\/a>: Cortec\u2019s Ivana Liposcak discussed how deteriorating concrete, and the metal in concrete, is often the cause of costly repairs, financial losses, injuries, and fatalities.
