He wants the industry to be more forward thinking, to tackle problems before they come up, and to be more aware of the research projects happening across the country. This will make sure that the limited available funding goes to the most important endeavours.<\/p>\n<h4>\u2018Live Labs 2 decarbonising local roads\u2019<\/h4>\n<p>Giles Perkins, head of future mobility at WSP, will share updates on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adeptnet.org.uk\/livelabs2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Live Labs 2 initiative<\/a>: the three-year, \u00a330m, UK-wide programme aiming to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/energy-news\/is-your-highways-business-ready-for-decarbonisation\/146968\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">decarbonise local highways infrastructure and assets<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Live Labs 2 explores smaller innovations that can make a huge impact when applied across the country \u2013 from managing green spaces to decarbonising lighting via line-marking innovations and improved signage. The presentation will finish with a practical framework that attendees can apply to their own operations or processes.<\/p>\n<p>This follows Ashley\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/digital-construction-news\/digging-deep-into-digital-transformation-highways-uk\/145727\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Highways UK talk from October<\/a>, titled \u2018The challenges of digitally transforming field operations\u2019, which was done in collaboration with Jointline\u2019s head of QSHE, Julie Davidson.
