With the announcement that 2024 was the hottest year on record, insulation specialist Actis is calling on construction colleagues to follow its lead in striving to be as sustainable as possible<\/h2>\n

Latest data, released by the European Copernicus<\/a> climate service, reveals that last year was not only the hottest<\/a>, but also the first to pass the 1.5C global warming threshold, a situation described by UN chief Ant\u00f3nio Guterres as “climate breakdown.”<\/p>\n

Climate scientists say humans still have control over the future climate, explaining that sharp reductions in greenhouse emissions can lessen the consequences of warming.<\/p>\n

The right insulation preserves heat and keeps energy usage down<\/h3>\n

Insulation specialist Actis, whose Hybrid range<\/a> and two-in-one Eolis HC<\/a> are noted for their sustainable credentials, is determined to lead the way in minimising the negative impact of construction materials manufactured across the continent, with a multi-pronged approach to reducing energy use.<\/p>\n

Actis’ zero-waste policy and the 100% recyclability of all its products has enabled its Hybris insulation to become the only reflective insulation in Europe to earn international Cradle to Cradle C2C Certified\u00ae Bronze Certification.<\/p>\n

Few raw materials and fewer energy resources used during production means carbon emissions produced manufacturing all five Actis products are very low compared with those produced by other insulation products, at less than 2kg per sq m of CO2.<\/p>\n

And its \u2018doing more with less’<\/a> video examines its approach to sustainability.<\/p>\n

Actis is urging its peers to “take action to slow the speed of climate change”<\/h3>\n

Actis UK and Ireland sales director Mark Cooper said: “This latest data confirm what we have known for a long time – that we need to take action to slow the speed of climate change. More and more specifiers are appreciating that our range of insulation solutions offer a quick, clean and easy way to create a thermally efficient building, thus reducing the need to burn fuel. And our own production processes are also designed to minimise our impact on the environment.”<\/p>\n

In addition to keeping the warmth in, Actis products help keep buildings cool during the hot weather, removing the need for gas guzzling air conditioning, with the reflective films from which two-in-one Eolis HC is created reflecting 95% of infrared radiation.<\/p>\n
