Mayfield Park, the mixed-use development site near Manchester Piccadilly station, will offer nearly 900 homes and 325,000 square foot of office space<\/h2>\n

Studio Egret West and Shedkm has submitted plans for the first phase of housing at Mayfield Park as part of the redevelopment of the brownfield site<\/a> in Manchester.<\/p>\n

Designed for Landsec, the plans bring shops, restaurants, caf\u00e9s, a health and wellbeing club, community spaces and residential buildings.<\/p>\n

The plans are part of the \u00a31.4bn Mayfield scheme<\/h3>\n

The redeveloped Mayfield Park<\/a> was also designed by Studio Egret West and opened in 2022. The wider scheme also includes 325,000sq ft of office space across two buildings and a cycle park with capacity for hundreds of bikes. Designed by Morris + Company, the first office building will cover 230,000sq ft and is due to start onsite works later this year.<\/p>\n

The second office building, which will be known as the Poulton, was designed by Bennetts Associates and will cover 95,000sq ft, starting work after the first building’s completion.<\/p>\n

Revitalising Manchester’s brownfield<\/h3>\n

Mike Hood, on behalf of Landsec, said: \u201cOur ambition for Mayfield is to create a diverse, green, world-class place where everyone feels welcome \u2013 whether that\u2019s to live, work or visit. Since opening the park in 2022, we\u2019ve been on a mission to continue to grow it across the 24-acre masterplan. The major expansion of green space and the first homes alongside workplaces at Mayfield are all extremely exciting. It\u2019s easy to forget much of this part of town was disused, derelict land just a few years ago.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe look forward to continue to shape Mayfield\u2019s future<\/a> alongside our partners and hand in hand with local residents.\u201d<\/p>\n

Other organisations working on the team include project manager Deloitte and cost consultant Arcadis, engineers WSP and Buro Happold, as well as Gerald Eve as planning consultant.<\/p>\n
