{"id":150876,"date":"2025-05-06T13:48:16","date_gmt":"2025-05-06T12:48:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=150876"},"modified":"2025-05-06T13:48:16","modified_gmt":"2025-05-06T12:48:16","slug":"ecitb-fund-400000-energy-transition-skills-hub-etsh","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/hr-skills-news\/ecitb-fund-400000-energy-transition-skills-hub-etsh\/150876\/","title":{"rendered":"ECITB to fund \u00a3400,000 Energy Transition Skills Hub"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>The Energy Transition Skills Hub (ETSH) was unveiled in September 2023 and will be located in Aberdeen<\/h2>\n<p>The Energy Transition Skills Hub is receiving the money from the ECITB.<\/p>\n<p>The ETSH is being built as a collaborative venture between the Energy Transition Zone (ETZ Ltd), Scottish Government, Shell UK, and North East Scotland College.<\/p>\n<h3>The Energy Transition Skills Hub is being funded as part of a consortium<\/h3>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ecitb.org.uk\/about-ecitb\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Engineering Construction Industry Training Board<\/a> is providing \u00a3400,000 in funding for the ETSH, and is allocating money from its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/hr-skills-news\/ecitb-invests-further-2m-in-regional-skills-hubs-over-next-two-years\/149950\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">existing ECITB investment in Regional Skills Hubs.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>This money will help meet the current and future needs of the clean energy transition.<\/p>\n<p>This specific investment will go towards equipping and fitting a modern welding academy within the ETSH facility, including 32 welding bays.<\/p>\n<h3>The ETSH has already received millions in funding<\/h3>\n<p>\u00a34.5m has already been allocated to the project from the Scottish Government\u2019s Just Transition Fund, \u00a32.3m from ETZ Ltd, and \u00a3500,000 from the North East Scotland College.<\/p>\n<p>They money will see the project take place next to Aberdeen Altens Campus, taking a disused dairy facility and transforming it.<\/p>\n<p>The hub will see a community space, flexible curriculum, weekend and evening courses, and both young and adult learners. An outreach vehicle will also be included to promote energy careers on the go.
