{"id":152238,"date":"2025-06-13T13:25:48","date_gmt":"2025-06-13T12:25:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=152238"},"modified":"2025-06-13T13:25:48","modified_gmt":"2025-06-13T12:25:48","slug":"new-british-suicide-prevention-standard-development-workplace","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/health-safety-news\/new-british-suicide-prevention-standard-development-workplace\/152238\/","title":{"rendered":"New British suicide prevention standard in development for the workplace"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>The British Standards Institution is developing BS 30480 Suicide and the workplace to guide built environment organisations in preventing tragedy<\/h2>\n<p>The British suicide prevention standard will provide guidance on intervention, prevention, and support for those affected by suicide.<\/p>\n<p>On average, two workers in the built environment commit suicide every day.<\/p>\n<h3>The standard is now in consultation<\/h3>\n<p>Anyone is able to see the current draft of the standard and also provide feedback. The intention is to gain public views and ensure that the standard will take a wide range of knowledge and experience with suicide awareness and education.<\/p>\n<p>An expert panel is developing the standard, and will take all comments into consideration.
