At a parliamentary reception this week, trade association BEAMA<\/a> relaunched the Smart Buildings Group and urged government to support industry and the supply chain in driving smart energy manufacturing<\/h2>\n

At a reception hosted by hosted by Bill Esterson MP, chair of the Energy, Security and Net Zero Committee, BEAMA relaunched the Smart Buildings Group with the publication of a Smart Energy Explainer, which provides policymakers and MPs with an updated primer on the range of smart energy technologies available to accelerate decarbonisation of the UK economy.<\/p>\n

BEAMA, a trade association representing manufacturers of smart energy technology and products, has called for the development of a joined-up delivery plan that brings energy, housing, industry, and consumer policy under one strategy for net zero homes.<\/p>\n

This will ensure that the multiple strands of government policies are tied up together and unlock the full potential of smart energy manufacturing in the UK, a sector valued at around \u00a314bn.<\/p>\n

The Smart Building Group (SBG) is an industry forum within BEAMA<\/h3>\n

SBG represents UK manufacturers of Smart Energy Appliances, including EV charging equipment, the full range of electric heat and water products, and smart home energy management systems.<\/p>\n

The updated explainer, \u2018The smart energy supply chain: giving consumers access to clean power\u2019, outlines the benefits for consumers and the wider energy system of delivering smart, flexible products.<\/p>\n

The event brought together manufacturers from the different strands of heat decarbonisation and smart innovation across the UK to showcase the latest smart technologies helping to drive the clean energy transition.<\/p>\n

The SGB group also recommended the creation of a standing industry-government forum including manufacturers, installers, and consumer groups, to troubleshoot policy gaps, share insights, and steer delivery.<\/p>\n
