{"id":154218,"date":"2025-08-18T12:09:50","date_gmt":"2025-08-18T11:09:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=154218"},"modified":"2025-08-18T12:09:50","modified_gmt":"2025-08-18T11:09:50","slug":"mace-secures-contract-30-storey-85-gracechurch-street-tower","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/projects\/mace-secures-contract-30-storey-85-gracechurch-street-tower\/154218\/","title":{"rendered":"Mace secures contract for 30-storey 85 Gracechurch Street tower"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Hertshten Properties has selected Mace Construct to deliver the new 30-storey 85 Gracechurch Street next to Leadenhall Market in the City of London<\/h2>\n<p>The planned development at 85 Gracechurch Street has been designed by architect Woods Bagot and is aiming to achieve a BREEAM Outstanding rating, powered by electricity only and integrating energy efficient mechanical systems, natural ventilation and urban greening.<\/p>\n<p>Following Mace\u2019s successful tender, it has now entered pre-construction services agreement (PCSA) phase.<\/p>\n<h3>The development will replace a 1930s block within the Leadenhall conservation area<\/h3>\n<p>The archaelogical <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/energy-news\/retrofitting-heritage-buildings-office\/133506\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">heritage of the site<\/a> has already demanded <a href=\"https:\/\/85gracechurchstreetconsultation.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/25_00433_FULL-85_GRACECHURCH_STREET_PLANNING_STATEMENT_FINAL-1630021.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">planning revisions<\/a>, with excavations revealing the remains of the first Roman Basilica in London. These remains will be displayed in situ, in a visitor attraction curated by the Museum of London.<\/p>\n<p>The mixed-use development will feature approximately 235,000 sq ft of office space and event space with a 270-degree terrace.<\/p>\n<h3>85 Gracechurch Street is expected to complete in 2030<\/h3>\n<p>Mace Construct managing director Ged Simmonds said: \u201cBuilding on our track record constructing market-leading commercial developments in London, 85 Gracechurch Street offers a unique opportunity to deliver a sustainable and forward-thinking office.
