But as demand for lithium looks set to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2023\/08\/29\/a-worldwide-lithium-shortage-could-come-as-soon-as-2025.html?msockid=21cd396264176e3c322f2bed65f76f1a\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">oustrip supply<\/a> as soon as this year, alternatives that derive energy from solar and wind are being developed. This includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Compressed air energy storage, where surplus power compresses air and then releases it through a turbine to generate electricity when needed<\/li>\n<li>Mechanical gravity energy storage, where forces such as gravity are utilised to generate electricity during mechanical works<\/li>\n<li>Flow batteries, which generate chemical energy via two chemical components dissolved in liquids and seperated by a membrane<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>The guide will help construction sites reap the benefits of BESS<\/h3>\n<p>The guide highlights the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/plant-equipment-supplies-news\/is-battery-powered-equipment-the-future-of-the-construction-industry\/104771\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">real-world applications for battery storage<\/a>, from efficient load management to overcoming grid challenges and scheduling power, including many that are not yet well-known to the industry.<\/p>\n<p>Tom concluded: \u201cTo achieve goals such as reducing carbon emissions and meeting project deadlines, the sector requires certainty.
