Four firms have been given spots on the framework through the Decommissioning and Nuclear Waste Partnership<\/a><\/h2>\n

The Sellafield risk reduction framework has given spots to A2R, Amentum, The Decommissioning Alliance, and Nuclear Decommissioning Solutions.<\/p>\n

The framework will last for 15 years, and will see the treatment and storage of nuclear waste materials, as well as the decommissioning of redundant assets.<\/p>\n

Suppliers will work on every stage<\/h3>\n

The framework will collaborate with the firms in both planning and delivery, with a value-for-money route for specialist supply chain capabilities and capacities for decommissioning tasks.<\/p>\n

The firms under the four lots are:<\/p>\n

Lot 1 (Remediation):
\n\u2022 A2R
\n\u2022 Amentum<\/p>\n

Lot 2 (Retrievals):
\n\u2022 The Decommissioning Alliance<\/p>\n

Lot 3 (Retrievals):
\n\u2022 Nuclear Decommissioning Solutions<\/p>\n

Lot 4 (Integrated Nuclear Waste Partner):
\n\u2022 A2R<\/p>\n

James Riddick, Sellafield Ltd chief supply chain officer, said: \u201cCleaning up the legacy of historic operations on our site is at the heart of our mission. It is important that we achieve this safely, efficiently, and sustainably – our supply chain, and this partnership plays a key role in that.<\/p>\n

\u201cJust as importantly, these partners share our values and our commitment to creating lasting social value for the communities we serve.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sellafield also has an Infrastructure Delivery Partnership<\/h3>\n

In October, Costain, Morgan Sindall Infrastructure, and HOCHTIEF(UK) Construction all signed contracts with Sellafield worth \u00a32.9bn<\/a> to deliver infrastructure.<\/p>\n

The three lots saw HOCHTIEF enter into a civils contract, Costain into utilities, and Morgan Sindall into electrical distribution. These contracts will run for nine years, and there will be a possibility to extend them for another six years.<\/p>\n

Sellafield chief supply chain officer James Riddick said: \u201cOur job at Sellafield is to create a clean and safe environment for future generations. That means safely, securely, and cost effectively dealing with the legacy of historic operations on our site. To deliver this we need robust and reliable infrastructure to support our nuclear decommissioning and waste management activities.<\/p>\n

\u201cIDP is a long-term strategic partnership designed to provide that support while unlocking investment and opportunities for our local community and delivering sustainable value for money to the taxpayer.\u201d<\/p>\n

Simon Smith, managing director, Morgan Sindall Infrastructure, commented: \u201cWe have been delivering in West Cumbria for over 15 years, and we are delighted to build on this further with the award of the Infrastructure Delivery Partnership. This long-term programme is not only nationally significant for Sellafield and its decommissioning programme, but we know first-hand the benefits to local communities and the\u202fregion from an award of this nature.\u201d<\/p>\n
