{"id":156815,"date":"2025-11-10T06:48:37","date_gmt":"2025-11-10T06:48:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=156815"},"modified":"2025-11-05T17:22:23","modified_gmt":"2025-11-05T17:22:23","slug":"barn-converter-loves-his-first-foray-into-easy-to-use-three-part-actis-system","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/energy-news\/barn-converter-loves-his-first-foray-into-easy-to-use-three-part-actis-system\/156815\/","title":{"rendered":"Barn converter loves his first foray into \u2018easy to use\u2019 three-part Actis system"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>A Dorset-based business consultant with a raft of building conversions under his belt is converting a barn for his family to live in \u2013 and loving his first foray into the Actis Hybrid range<\/h2>\n<p>Arjen Westerdijk began work on converting the 500 sq m barn in North Dorset back in 2024 after selling the family home in Sussex, with the aim of completing the project in early 2026.<\/p>\n<p>His original plan had been to move to another property in the south coast county, but after the transaction fell through he and his family relocated to a cottage in the south west, and decided to put down roots there instead.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe first year we demolished the barn and started the ground works, and over the last year we have come out of the ground and are building our home.\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<h3>This barn conversion project is Arjen&#8217;s largest<\/h3>\n<p>Arjen, despite not being a professional builder, has completed a number of house renovations over the years, including converting listed buildings. This latest project is not only the largest to date \u2013 with the main home having four bedrooms and a further two in the annexe \u2013 it is also the first time he has used<a href=\"https:\/\/www.insulation-actis.com\/hybrid-system.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Actis Hybrid products<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI chose Actis because of its performance credentials, ease of working and because it offers the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/energy-news\/insulation-innovation-actis-sustainable-products-and-membranes\/156185\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">complete insulation package<\/a>. The ease of use is fantastic.
