The development will also bring 3,3000 apartments across a variety of types and tenures, with 660 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/projects\/salford-tower-development-bring-3300-new-flats-city-centre\/141649\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">promised as affordable homes<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The project would be Salford&#8217;s largest affordable housing development in half a century, as well as establishing the region\u2019s tallest skyscraper at a 273 metres (approximately 78 storeys). The site was acquired for \u00a316m in 2020.<\/p>\n<h3>The development will be delivered in two phases<\/h3>\n<p>Matt Brook Architects have designed the revitalised Regent Park, centred around five acres of new public open space, including West Union Park \u2014 a 3.5-acre green area featuring children\u2019s play facilities and a village square designed to host community events and pop-up markets.<\/p>\n<p>Residents will have access to 1,000 cycle parking spaces but only 600 car parking bays, encouraging low-carbon travel. The development aims to create a more <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/unlocking-potential-15-minute-neighbourhoods-through-participatory-planning\/140191\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">walkable, connected and inclusive neighbourhood<\/a>, balancing new housing growth with accessible retail, leisure and community facilities.<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/www.henleyim.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Henley Investment Managemen<\/a>t are backing the Regent Park development<\/h3>\n<p>Chief executive Ian Rickwood commented: \u201cOur approved scheme for Regent Park will deliver a new green and sustainable neighbourhood, a renewed local centre for Salford. Our plans recognise the importance of retail and services for the community, retaining significant enhanced provision that will cater to the needs of local people, while delivering much needed high-quality homes, including a significant proportion of affordable homes, a new park, a village square and community forum.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We look forward to continuing to work with Salford City Council, stakeholders and the local community to deliver our vision.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The new retail provision is expected to create around 160 permanent jobs, while construction will support over 900
