{"id":157637,"date":"2025-12-04T10:06:16","date_gmt":"2025-12-04T10:06:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=157637"},"modified":"2025-12-04T10:06:16","modified_gmt":"2025-12-04T10:06:16","slug":"homes-england-partnership-milestone-reached-with-emcca","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/homes-england-partnership-milestone-reached-with-emcca\/157637\/","title":{"rendered":"Homes England partnership milestone reached with EMCCA"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>The 10th Strategic Place Partnership (SPP) has been established by the agency, with the East Midlands Combined County Authority (EMCCA) marking a record for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/organisations\/homes-england\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Homes England<\/a><\/h2>\n<p>This Homes England partnership, the 10th of its kind, will support local housing and regeneration efforts. This will be achieved through close working with local leaders and their communities.<\/p>\n<p>Homes England is now in partnership with local leaders in most of the country, but more partnerships are still planned.<\/p>\n<h3>Regenerating the East Midlands will be easier than before<\/h3>\n<p>The partnership will now allow public and private sector partners to more easily work on projects such as Infinity Garden Village, one of the 43 towns being worked on under the Garden Communities programme, which will include 4,530 new homes, and new secondary school, and over 3m sq ft of mixed employment space.<\/p>\n<p>Amy Rees CB, chief executive of Homes England, said: \u201cOur 10th Strategic Place Partnership represents a significant milestone in the way we work with Mayoral Strategic Authorities across England. By formalising our partnership with EMCCA, we are creating a powerful framework that will unlock the region\u2019s potential for sustainable growth.<\/p>\n<p>Projects like Broad Marsh demonstrate what is possible when local knowledge meets national resources, and this SPP will enable us to replicate that success across the East Midlands, delivering the homes and regeneration that the community deserves.<\/p>\n<p>Claire Ward, East Midlands Combined County Authority mayor, said: \u201cThis new partnership marks an important moment for the East Midlands. By working hand in hand with Homes England, we are ensuring that our ambition to deliver 100,000 new homes is based on a solid foundation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBuilding these homes is one of the most important ways that our investments will benefit local people. It is how we will deliver inclusive growth, which is at the heart of my mission as Mayor. That means building more homes and creating stronger, more connected communities with the jobs, infrastructure, and regeneration that our local people deserve.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur partnership with Homes England is a long-term investment in our future. Together, we are building an East Midlands that is vibrant, fair, and forward-looking \u2013 a place we can all be proud to call home.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>Homes England is already involved in the East Midlands<\/h3>\n<p>Several projects have seen support by the housing agency, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/projects\/nottingham-regeneration-site-purchased-homes-england\/149951\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">such as Broad Marsh<\/a>, which will see 1,000 new homes built, as well as regenerating or creating 20,000 sq m of retail, office, and community spaces, and creating 2,000 full-time jobs.<\/p>\n<p>At the time, Eamonn Boylan, chief executive of Homes England, said: \u201cThe acquisition of Broad Marsh is a major milestone in the city council\u2019s vision of regeneration for this area of Nottingham.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have worked closely with the council since 2022 to provide professional advice and support.
