Find out here<\/h2>\n<p>In the first year of 2025 alone, UK construction administrations <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/hr-skills-news\/construction-administrations-make-up-10-total\/153013\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">made up 10% of the 783 administrations.<\/a> This makes construction one of the most difficult businesses to maintain in the UK, and those conditions are continuing into 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Below, we are listing notable examples of companies that fall into <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/organisations\/insolvency-service\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">administration or insolvency<\/a> throughout the year.<\/p>\n<p>Learn more about which construction companies <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/hr-skills-news\/2025-administrations-keep-up-with-latest-construction-companies-collapse\/147257\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">didn&#8217;t make it through 2025 here.<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>June<\/h3>\n<h4>Zentia<\/h4>\n<p>Joint administrators from Interpath have been appointed to handle Zentia&#8217;s administration, causing the loss of 170 jobs. Zentia is an acoustic ceiling manufacturer, working with suspension grids, floating ceiling systems, and mineral ceiling tiles, among other solutions.<\/p>\n<h4>Agetur<\/h4>\n<p>Agetur has yesterday filed a notice of intention to appoint administrators after a loss of \u00a3660,000.<\/p>\n<p>Based in Brackley, Northamptonshire, the firm was a housing civil engineering and groundworks contractor founded in 1985. The move yesterday will put over 100 staff into redundancy.<\/p>\n<h3>May<\/h3>\n<h4>Curo Construction Ltd<\/h4>\n<p>Curo Construction Ltd was established as a contractor company in 2013 and has since worked on several major building and fitout projects including Power Road Studios in London and Project Alaska in Hounslow.<\/p>\n<p>At the start of this month, the company notified their staff that they had ceased trading and that the company was no longer able to continue.<\/p>\n<h4>Offsite Engineered Products UK Ltd<\/h4>\n<p>Known as OEP UK, the firm has filed notice of intent to appoint an administrator, following OEP Building Services which fell into administration in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>OEP UK specialised in creating bathroom pods, supplying over 10,000 pod units per year, according to their website.<\/p>\n<p><em>**Due to inaccuracies in the initial report, the following information has been retracted: \u201cOffsite Solutions is part of a family-owned group of manufacturing companies.\u201d The information presented was inaccurate, did not meet our editorial standards, and for verification, Offsite Solutions has no connection with OEP and is wholly unaffected by this situation. We apologise for the error.<\/em><\/p>\n<h3>April<\/h3>\n<h4>Mackoy Limited<\/h4>\n<p>Based in Hampshire, the firm has been around since 2011 and became one of the biggest groundworks contractors in the South of England.<\/p>\n<p>After a pre-tax loss of \u00a3616,000 as of March 31 2025, Mackoy has announced the intent to appoint an administrator.<\/p>\n<h4>Hive Energy Ltd<\/h4>\n<p>A firm specialising in renewable energy, with a construction arm and an aggregate arm, has filed for administrations as of 24 March.<\/p>\n<p>Hive Energy has previously said it has over 180 companies in its group and accounts, and turned over \u00a37.2m in the year to 31 March 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Its bank account was frozen in November after a winding-up petition was put in place.<\/p>\n<h3>February<\/h3>\n<h4>Jerram Falkus Construction Ltd<\/h4>\n<p>London contractor has filed a notice of administration, after sites suddenly shut earlier this week.<\/p>\n<p>Established in 1884, the comapny employed around 63 full-time staff in the central Shoreditch office, as well across London and the South-East, on projects valued up to \u00a340m.<\/p>\n<h4>Artemis<\/h4>\n<p>Artemis Interior Services Ltd, a fit-out and refurbishment specialist, has filed notice of intent to appoint an administrator, following a loss of \u00a32.1m.<\/p>\n<h4>Gilks<\/h4>\n<p>The mechanical and engineering firm Gilks has filed notice of intention to appoint administrators after dropping \u00a34m in revenue in one year.<\/p>\n<p>The firm is owned by the Ethikos Group, and was established in the 1950&#8217;s. 60 staff are set to lose their jobs following liquidation.<\/p>\n<h4>South Coast Insulation Services<\/h4>\n<p>A contractor specialising in insulation and retrofit technology has ceased trading after the ending of government funding via the Great British Insulation Scheme and Energy Company Obligation, with no clear replacement in sight.<\/p>\n<p>The company previously had a turnover of \u00a336m, and 92 jobs have been lost.<\/p>\n<h3>January<\/h3>\n<h4>FK Group<\/h4>\n<p>A building envelope specialist, FK Group Ltd filed notice of administration on 19 January.<\/p>\n<p>The group and its two subsidiaries, FK Construction Ltd and FK Facades Ltd, have been operating since 1979, but in recent times have encountered financial difficulties.<\/p>\n<h4>Caldwell Construction<\/h4>\n<p>Caldwell Construction was a groundworks and civils contractor based in Stoke on Trent. Recently they have been searching for a buyer, and have now filed notice for administration after many subcontractors were not paid.<\/p>\n<p>They have been responsible for several projects across the West Midlands, Including brownfield developments in the Wirral and around Stoke on Trent.<\/p>\n<p>It is understood that creditors are chasing the firm, as it has not been able to pay sub-contractors or suppliers for weeks.<\/p>\n<h4>Versarien<\/h4>\n<p>A firm once hailed as the &#8220;future of construction&#8221; due to its Cementene concrete admixture due to low carbon and high strength, among other products, has fallen in administration.<\/p>\n<p>Established in 2010, Versarien&#8217;s products have been trialled in concrete elements on HS2, as well as being a member of National\u00a0Highways Roads Research Alliance and the Digital Roads of the Future project. The firm also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/mmc-news\/balfour-beatty-signs-agreement-develop-3d-printed-materials\/144179\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">signed a deal with Balfour Beatty<\/a> in 2024 to work on low-carbon products.<\/p>\n<p>However, yearly records indicate Versarien had not made a profit in several years, with losses often double the reported revenue. The board began seeking a buyer last summer, with some interest reported, but no deal materialised.<\/p>\n<p>Joint administrator Andrew Knowles said: \u201cWe are disappointed that a solvent sale of the business did not take place, despite reaching out to both industry and non-industry specific parties.
