{"id":15879,"date":"2015-04-07T10:43:19","date_gmt":"2015-04-07T09:43:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.adjacentgovernment.co.uk\/?p=15879"},"modified":"2017-04-06T10:44:00","modified_gmt":"2017-04-06T09:44:00","slug":"newcastle-regeneration-developer-appointed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/newcastle-regeneration-developer-appointed\/15879\/","title":{"rendered":"Newcastle regeneration developer appointed"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><span>A multimillion pound regeneration plan for Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire, is set to get underway after a developer was appointed&#8230;<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Nottingham-based firm <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hddl.co.uk\/\"><span>Henry Davidson Developments<\/span><\/a> has been named the preferred development partner for the Ryecroft regeneration initiative after striking a deal with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.newcastle-staffs.gov.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span>Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council<\/span><\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.staffordshire.gov.uk\/Homepage.aspx\" target=\"_blank\"><span>Staffordshire County Council<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The scheme will see 65,000 sq ft of retail space created in the Staffordshire market town, as well as new student accommodation.<\/p>\n<p>The site, which was previously occupied by a Sainsbury&#8217;s car park, was bought by the two councils following the relocation of the store.<\/p>\n<p>It is expected that the scheme will create hundreds of job opportunities and will see up to \u00a340m worth of investment attracted to the town.<\/p>\n<p>Scott Davidson, managing director at Henry Davidson Developments, said: &#8220;We are thrilled to be working with both councils bringing our local knowledge and expertise to this regeneration project.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Local people can look forward with confidence to the co-ordinated development of a whole host of facilities that will make Newcastle a better place to live, work and visit.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Staffordshire County Council\u2019s Cabinet Member for Economy, Environment and Transport <a href=\"http:\/\/moderngov.staffordshire.gov.uk\/mgUserInfo.aspx?UID=119\" target=\"_blank\"><span>Mark Winnington<\/span><\/a> also commented.
