As winter continues to bite, roofers, specifiers and builders battling to select an insulating roofing underlay which can cope with winter storms and cold weather<\/a> may be interested in a new brochure produced by insulation specialist Actis<\/h2>\n

The document offers technical advice on its insulating breather membrane product, Boost R Hybrid Roof, which is aimed at both the new build and refurb market.<\/p>\n

The flexible and easy-to-use product offers an extremely effective way of eliminating condensation and preventing moisture entering the building.<\/p>\n

It doesn\u2019t require any special cutting tools, eye or respiratory protection and there\u2019s hardly any wastage<\/h3>\n

Used on the cold side of roofs, it is quick and easy to install, has a water vapour permeable roofing underlay which acts as a wind barrier suitable for all wind zones (1-5) throughout the UK and a self-adhesive lap to ensure joints between adjacent sheets can be sealed quickly and easily, creating an airtight layer.<\/p>\n

In common with sister product Boost R Hybrid<\/a>, it has the highest thermal resistance of any insulating breather membrane of the same thickness on the market and is extremely cost competitive.<\/p>\n

The brochure provides example build-ups in a timber pitched roof using Boost R Hybrid Roof alone, as well as in combination with accompanying Actis products, honeycomb structured insulation Hybris and insulating vapour control layer H Control Hybrid.<\/p>\n

The modelled examples specify U-values achievable in each scenario.<\/p>\n
