As part of planned redevelopment and expansion works at Leeds United Football Club’s home ground, an extensive LiDAR survey of Elland Road Stadium has been completed<\/h2>\n

A large-scale 3D laser scanning programme was undertaken at the stadium, providing a detailed representation of the structure to inform future redevelopment<\/a> proposals. The survey was delivered by Survey Hub<\/span><\/span> using equipment from RIEGL UK.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Given the complexity of the site, the project combined multiple data capture methods. Alongside terrestrial laser scanning, mobile mapping technology was deployed to capture internal circulation routes and hard-to-access areas, while drone-based photogrammetry generated point cloud data of roof structures and external elevations.<\/p>\n

In total, more than 5,250 scan positions were recorded, covering seating tiers, concourses, hospitality areas and key structural elements.<\/p>\n

The datasets were integrated into a coordinated 3D model, enabling the development of a detailed Autodesk Revit model. This provides a comprehensive digital twin of the stadium\u2019s current condition, supporting feasibility studies, design development and coordination for proposed expansion works.<\/p>\n
