AI is already changing construction. The bigger question is where it is delivering genuine business value and where the industry needs to look beyond the hype<\/h2>\n

The Digitalisation & AI Stage agenda is now live for UK Construction Week (UKCW) Birmingham 2026<\/a>, bringing together some of the sector\u2019s leading digital, data and technology experts at the NEC Birmingham from 29 September to 1 October.<\/p>\n

Curated by Build in Digital and sponsored by Zutec, the three-day programme will explore what digital transformation looks like in practice, from accelerating AI adoption and connecting information across the project lifecycle to digital twins, the Golden Thread, data-led decision-making and demonstrating the impact needed to win work.<\/p>\n

As construction businesses face growing pressure to improve productivity, manage risk and deliver more efficiently, the programme will move the conversation beyond technology for technology\u2019s sake and focus on how digital tools can solve real industry challenges.<\/p>\n

Moving AI from experimentation to business value<\/h3>\n

AI may be dominating conversations across construction, but adoption remains uneven.<\/p>\n

One of the key sessions on Tuesday 29 September, From Adoption to Acceleration: Helping Supply Chains Embrace AI Together, will explore what needs to happen for AI adoption to move beyond isolated experimentation and become embedded across construction supply chains.<\/p>\n

Later that day, AI in Construction: Hype, Reality and the Next Five Years will examine where AI is already making a measurable difference, where expectations may be running ahead of reality and what the next phase of adoption could mean for the sector.<\/p>\n

The discussion will give construction professionals an opportunity to cut through the noise surrounding AI and better understand where the technology can deliver practical value for their businesses.<\/p>\n

Connecting construction through better data<\/h3>\n

Digital transformation is not only about AI. The ability to create, manage, and share reliable information throughout an asset’s lifecycle is becoming increasingly important across the built environment.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday 30 September, Collaboration by Default: Digital Twins, the Golden Thread and Gateway 3 will examine how connected information can support better collaboration, compliance and decision-making.<\/p>\n

With the Golden Thread placing greater emphasis on accurate and accessible building information, the session will consider how digital twins and connected data<\/a> can help project teams move away from fragmented information and towards a more joined-up approach.<\/p>\n

Also taking place on Wednesday, The Proof Clients Want: Turning Impact into Contracts will turn the focus towards commercial outcomes, exploring how businesses can demonstrate measurable impact and use evidence to strengthen their position with clients and secure future opportunities.<\/p>\n
