It is the second year on the run the company has won it.<\/p>\n<p>The award recognises the firm\u2019s health and safety management systems, as well as the safety record. It was presented to Martin Nash, health, safety and environmental manager at Beard during a ceremony in Birmingham.<\/p>\n<p>Family-owned, Beard has been building around Swindon for more than 100 years. The company\u2019s accident incident rate reduced due to a five-year programme of initiative.<\/p>\n<p>Nash said: \u201cGaining our second consecutive Gold is a significant achievement for Beard staff and our project teams who work in some of the most challenging construction environments.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m delighted to accept this award on behalf of all our people whose hard work made this award possible, and who are totally committed to making Beard a healthy, safe and happy place to work.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The awards date back 58 years and recognise continuous improvements in accident and ill health prevention at work.<\/p>\n<p>RoSPA Awards Manager David Rawlins said: \u201cThe RoSPA Awards encourage improvement in occupational health and safety management.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOrganisations that gain recognition for their health and safety management systems, such as Beard, contribute to raising standards overall and we congratulate them.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"mk-custom-module-container\">\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A prestigious health and safety award has been granted to construction company Beard for the second consecutive year\u2026 The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) has awarded Swindon-based construction firm Beard the prestigious Gold Award for Occupational Health and Safety.
