{"id":21027,"date":"2015-11-04T15:03:01","date_gmt":"2015-11-04T15:03:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=21027"},"modified":"2015-11-04T15:03:01","modified_gmt":"2015-11-04T15:03:01","slug":"malcolm-group-profits-increase-11-per-cent","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/plant-equipment-supplies-news\/malcolm-group-profits-increase-11-per-cent\/21027\/","title":{"rendered":"Malcolm Group profits increase 11 per cent"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><span>Logistics and construction services company Malcolm Group has seen profits increase by around 11 per cent over the past year\u2026<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Renfrewshire-based <a href=\"http:\/\/www.malcolmgroup.co.uk\/index.asp\" target=\"_blank\"><span>Malcolm Group<\/span><\/a> saw annual trading profits increase by around 11 per cent on the back of increased turnover.<\/p>\n<p>The company, which employs more than 2,000 people and has operations in Scotland and England, saw increased activity in its logistics operations, as well as in its construction services and waste management division.<\/p>\n<p>The family-owned firm saw its trading profit increase to \u00a37.055m in the year to 31 January from \u00a36.35m in the 12 months prior.<\/p>\n<p>Pre-tax profits totalled \u00a37.36m in the 12 months to January. This was up from \u00a36.68m in the previous financial year, and the figures take into account asset gains, as well as the cost of servicing debt.<\/p>\n<p>Chief Executive Andrew Malcolm said the company had seen \u201ca good performance given the relatively low growth being experienced within the wider UK economy\u201d. This was proven by the fact the group saw an increase in turnover to \u00a3216m in the year to January.
