Stewart has an extensive history with the firm. She worked for Laing Construction when it was acquired by R O\u2019Rourke & Son in 2001. Stewart continued with the firm, moving to group commercial director in 2004. In 2010 she became group director of finance and commerce, before finally taking the position of group chief executive in April 2013.<\/p>\n
O\u2019Rourke said: \u201cAnna\u2019s medical treatment makes it impossible to continue with the full range of her extensive work duties and travel commitments.<\/p>\n
\u201cI can confirm that Anna will be continuing with the Laing O\u2019Rourke Group and going forward will support me with a number of important strategic activities, which will be managed around her treatment regime.<\/p>\n
