The National House-Building Council (NHBC) launched the hub to enable the industry to see where modern methods of construction (MMC) are being built.<\/p>\n<h3>MMC Hub<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nhbc.co.uk\/mmchub\" target=\"_blank\">The MMC Hub<\/a> will also give access to research into offsite construction for those interested in the field. This will be available for free.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, assistance will be available to help builders determine if specific building systems meet the standards set by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/new-homes-warranty-firm-called-question\/30654\" target=\"_blank\">NHBC<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Manufacturers will be able to submit their systems and sub-assemblies for an assessment. From this it will be determined if they meet the requirements set by their technical standards.<\/p>\n<p>Support offered comprises of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Details of building systems currently accepted<\/li>\n<li>Information about MMC research<\/li>\n<li>Access to details of NHBC\u2019s MMC requirements<\/li>\n<li>Examples of what\u2019s included in their review process<\/li>\n<li>An online application facility<\/li>\n<li>Details of how to apply for a review<\/li>\n<li>Answers to frequently asked questions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Supporting innovation<\/h3>\n<p>NHBC standards manager Paul Cribbens said: \u201cFor decades NHBC has supported the industry in engaging with and deploying innovative forms of construction.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBecause our approach to acceptance of MMC\/off-site construction is rigorous it provides confidence to all involved that if a home benefits from an NHBC warranty then the system has been thoroughly assessed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe hope that the new hub will act as the leading resource for manufacturers wanting to apply for a review, with details of the building systems currently accepted together with the very latest research.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>Module construction<\/h3>\n<p>This method of building is one that is continuing to see growth. It offers a cheap, affordable solution to constructing homes quickly.
