The challenge, organised by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cibse.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Chartered Institution of Building Service Engineers<\/a> (CIBSE) and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ukcip.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">UK Climate Impacts Programme<\/a> (UKCIP), is in its second year.<\/p>\n<p>The competition invites teams to demonstrate creative designs. These should utilise both indoor and outdoor green infrastructure to enhance environments, such living walls and indoor planting. It aims to change the way in which built professionals think about green infrastructure and encourage uptake in the design process.<\/p>\n<h3>Challenging ideas<\/h3>\n<p>Sara Kassam, Head of Sustainability Development at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/energy-news\/facilities-management-department-inspiration\/31165\" target=\"_blank\">CIBSE<\/a>, said: \u201cWe want to challenge the idea that green infrastructure lives outdoors, and that it can\u2019t contribute to building services such as ventilation or internal comfort.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe need imaginative solutions to integrate green infrastructure into existing and new buildings, and this competition will show us what\u2019s out there.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs our climate changes, what constitutes \u2018good\u2019 building performance changes with it, and it\u2019s imperative we come up with new solutions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEntries need to contain both an overarching green infrastructure vision for the office building, and detailed design provided for a selected floor of the office, to truly demonstrate the effectiveness of its application.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>Who can enter?<\/h3>\n<p>Individuals and teams are welcome to enter the competition, and should submit their entry via 2 x A0 posters. It is open to all, no matter what level, meaning anyone from students to qualified practitioners can be involved.<\/p>\n<p>The competition will launch at Ecobuild, which opens today.
