Bentley Systems, a leading global provider of comprehensive software solutions for\u00a0advancing infrastructure, today (20 March) announced that the\u00a0Year in Infrastructure 2018\u00a0Conference will be held on 15-18 October in London at the Hilton London Metropole<\/h2>\n

Presented by Bentley Institute<\/a>, the conference is a global gathering of leading industry executives and prominent thought leaders in the design, construction, and operations of the world\u2019s infrastructure. The theme of this year\u2019s conference is\u00a0Going Digital: Advancements in Infrastructure<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The conference will feature some 70 speakers and more than 50 informative sessions, including keynotes by leading industry experts, interactive workshops, forums, panel discussions, and product demonstrations. Attendees can visit the Technology Pavilion, which features exhibits and presentations from Bentley Systems<\/a> and its strategic partners Microsoft<\/a>, Siemens<\/a>, Topcon<\/a>, and Bureau Veritas<\/a>.<\/p>\n

On the initial day of the conference, Bentley Institute will host\u00a0Digital Advancement Academies<\/em>, featuring presentations and interactive discussions with subject matter experts who provide insights and best practices in their areas of expertise including reality modelling, BIM strategy, and constructioneering.<\/p>\n

The conference also includes the selection and announcement of the winners of Bentley\u2019s\u00a0Year in Infrastructure\u00a02018\u00a0Awards (formerly known as the\u00a0Be Inspired\u00a0Awards<\/a>), which honours extraordinary infrastructure projects by users of Bentley software<\/a> throughout the world.<\/p>\n

During six industry-focused forums featured during the conference \u2014\u00a0Buildings and Campuses, Digital Cities,\u00a0Industrial Infrastructure,\u00a0Rail and Transit,\u00a0Roads and Bridges, and\u00a0Utilities and Water\u00a0\u2014more than 55 awards finalists will present their projects to independent panels of jurors, members of the press, and conference attendees.<\/p>\n

From those presentations, winners will be selected by the jurors, and announced at the conclusion of the conference on 18 October during an evening ceremony and gala.<\/p>\n

Aret Garip, technical director for WSP<\/a>, attended Bentley\u2019s conference last year in Singapore to represent WSP\u2019s\u00a0One Blackfriars\u00a0project in London, which was chosen as an awards finalist. Garip said: \u201cThe conference has been truly inspiring and educational.\u00a0It\u2019s a great event to learn about the latest tech in engineering design software and an opportunity to meet the creative, intelligent people who develop new tools to make it easier for us to design buildings.\u201d<\/p>\n
