Trimble has introduced three new versions of its software for structural engineering, fabrication and construction teams, aiming to offer increased control and improved documentation through constructible BIM workflows<\/h2>\n

The Tekla Structures<\/a> 2018, Tekla Structural Designer 2018 and Tekla Tedds 2018 are set to assist stakeholders in structural steel and precast and cast in place concrete including designers, detailers and fabricators, concrete contractors, general contractors and structural engineers.<\/p>\n

Tekla Structures 2018 aims to offer faster 3D modelling<\/a> processes, more precise detailing, better control over changes and quicker production of drawings with less effort, in addition to workflow-related efficiency gains. The new version also aims to support point clouds, allowing the delivery of coordinated, constructible designs that fit existing structures seamlessly. The improvements in drawings include quicker drawing production with less effort and reviewing and adding content faster.<\/p>\n

Tekla Structural Designer 2018 focuses on delivering new features and enhancements focused on structural design workflow productivity. For example, the new rigorous non-linear concrete slab design feature automates loading simulation through construction to help save engineering design time.<\/p>\n

Tekla Tedds 2018 presents a variety of new calculations that aims to improve productivity for civil and structural engineers.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for Trimble<\/a> said: \u201cA growing number of construction professionals, governments and owners around the world are embracing BIM technologies and processes. Projects around the world, from housing and bridges to factories and skyscrapers, are using Trimble\u2019s structural BIM solutions. Continuous development of Tekla BIM solutions demonstrates Trimble\u2019s commitment to innovation in structural engineering, off-site prefabrication and on-site efficiency.\u201d<\/p>\n

In addition to the three new software versions, Trimble is also launching the Tekla Developer Centre. The new online hub for all Tekla Open API information supports the application developer community, advancing their opportunities to benefit from the customisability of Tekla Structures and demonstrating the open approach to BIM and construction collaboration.<\/p>\n
