This accreditation will allow Swan to deliver high quality and affordable modular housing built in a factory setting, with the reassurance that the reliability and durability of the build meets an industry-wide benchmark.<\/p>\n<p>BOPAS was jointly established by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buildoffsite.com\/\">Buildoffsite<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blpinsurance.com\/\">BLP Insurance<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rics.org\/uk\/\">The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS)<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lr.org\/en\/\">Lloyd\u2019s Register<\/a> to provide lenders and valuers with access to a database that allows them to confirm whether a specific property has been built using BOPAS assessed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/offsite-construction-changing-an-industry\/38476\/\">modern methods of construction<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The scheme instills confidence in the construction and housing sector that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/quantifying-the-benefits-of-offsite-construction\/39444\/\">offsite methods of construction<\/a> should be durable and require no disproportionate maintenance for a minimum period of 60 years. The assurance is based on the building system\u2019s design and manufacture, having been subject to a Lloyd\u2019s Register competency and process assessment, and reviewed for its durability and associated maintenance requirement.<\/p>\n<p>Jeff Maxted at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/can-offsite-construction-solve-the-uk-housing-crisis\/36920\/\">BLP Insurance<\/a> said: \u201cDevelopers are increasingly realising the benefits of off-site and modern methods of construction as a viable solution to delivering affordable, high quality properties at speed.
