The supply and installation of the flooring has been applied to three steel frame buildings as part of the development<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Products Supplied: <\/strong>Precast, prestressed concrete hollowcore planks and blended grouting ballast<\/p>\n<p><strong>Site: <\/strong>Milton Park<\/p>\n<p><strong>Contractor: <\/strong>Buckingham Group<\/p>\n<p><strong>Client: <\/strong>MEPC<\/p>\n<p>A brand new \u00a324 million speculative office and laboratory development is nearing completion at Milton Park near Didcot, Oxford.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-40871 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/FP_McCann_Hollowcore_Milton_Park_3-e1524829202239.jpg\" alt=\"FP McCann\" width=\"324\" height=\"243\" \/>MEPC, the leading developer and manager, has appointed Buckingham Group as main contractor to deliver the first three buildings on the 7.6 acre Park Drive East site, including a high specification office block and two high-tech laboratory facilities. SRA architects designed the 110,000 sq ft projects and once complete, all will achieve the BREEAM Excellent rating.<\/p>\n<h3>Playing a key role<\/h3>\n<p>Playing a key role in the construction, FP McCann has completed the supply and installation of precast hollowcore flooring to the three steel frame buildings. The hollowcore flooring system was delivered from the company\u2019s Weston Underwood Facility. In total, around 11,000m2 of 250mm\/300mm thick prestressed hollowcore flooring panels have been fitted by the FP McCann contracting team.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on behalf of FP McCann, project manager Simon Poxon says,<strong><em>\u201d The<\/em><\/strong> <strong><em>precast, prestressed concrete<\/em><\/strong> <strong><em>hollowcore planks were specified as<\/em><\/strong> <strong><em>part of the design and build, and were<\/em><\/strong> <strong><em>all supplied to the highest standard on<\/em><\/strong> <strong><em>a just-in-time delivery schedule. Our<\/em><\/strong> <strong><em>contracting team undertook the work in<\/em><\/strong> <strong><em>a safe and efficient manner, completing<\/em><\/strong> <strong><em>the installation to programme.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-40870 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/FP_McCann_Hollowcore_Milton_Park_1-e1524828900569.jpg\" alt=\"Precast hollowcore flooring\" width=\"368\" height=\"276\" \/><\/p>\n<p>To finish the flooring system, a blended grouting ballast supplied in one tonne bags from FP McCann\u2019s Knockloughrim Quarry, Northern Ireland was brushed into the joints between each of the precast hollowcore planks. This product is provided as a standard part of the FP McCann flooring installation service.<\/p>\n<p>Milton Park is one of Europe\u2019s largest integrated business, science and technology parks, with close links to the life science division at the nearby Oxford University.
