A housing development made up of 41 affordable rent homes has been opened by the Mayor and Mayoress of Runcorn<\/h2>\n

The new homes were officially unveiled at a special ceremony attended by the Mayor and Mayoress of Halton, Cllr John Bradshaw and Marjorie Bradshaw.<\/p>\n

Part of the development has been named ‘Swain Close’ after the local councillor John Swain, a former Halton Mayor, magistrate, teacher and Halton Housing<\/a> board member who sadly passed away in 2012.<\/p>\n

Nicky Harris, Halton Housing\u2019s Development Manager who has overseen the build of this development said: \u201cWe are delighted with the Swain Close build project. These modern affordable rent properties are a great addition to the area \u2013 close to nearby schools and local amenities.\u201d<\/p>\n

Halton Housing worked in collaboration with property consultancy PDW<\/a>, which project managed the final stages of the development including on site management, handover and the ongoing post-handover procedure.<\/p>\n

David Bethell, Managing Director of PDW, said: \u201cHaving worked closely with Halton Housing to support them through the completion of this project, we\u2019re delighted to see the new site finished.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve worked on a number of similar residential developments for Halton Housing in their drive to provide more affordable housing<\/a> for local people. We\u2019ve delivered in excess of 300 new homes across Widnes and Runcorn for Halton Housing on their Latham Avenue, Tanhouse Lane, Yew Tree Lane and Barkla Extra Care developments over the last 3 years.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe different accommodation types provided at Swain Close are a welcome addition to the area and we\u2019re sure they\u2019ll be fantastic homes for many families for years to come.\u201d<\/p>\n

Situated in the Grangeway area of Runcorn, the two-acre site boasts a mix of one and two-bedroom apartments, two and three-bedroom houses, a bungalow and a large community green space.<\/p>\n
