The mechanical and electrical engineering specialists have secured a six figure contract to build an advanced medical diagnostics centre in Liverpool’s Knowledge Quarter next year<\/h2>\n

The new Rutherford Diagnostics HQ was officially announced at the MIPIM UK property market<\/a> conference in London last week.<\/p>\n

Rutherford Diagnostics – a wholly owned subsidary of Proton Partners – announced the new facility will be part of Liverpool City Council<\/a>‘s \u00a31 billion Paddington Village development.<\/p>\n

Steven Hunt & Associates<\/a> will collaborate with the Morgan Sindall Group to complete the build.<\/p>\n

The firm will design and build services throughout the facility including; mechanical ventilation to all floors, air conditioning, heating served from the site-wide energy centre, lighting, power, fire alarms and full access control.<\/p>\n

Steve Hunt, managing director of Steven Hunt & Associates, said: \u201cWe\u2019re honoured to have been appointed to such an important development, not only for the city but for the medical industry as a whole.<\/p>\n

“This modern facility will be truly world class and I can\u2019t think of a better home for it than Liverpool.\u201d<\/p>\n

The new five-storey development will become part of the innovative medical hub within the Knowledge\u00a0 Quarter, the new home to the Royal College of Physicians\u2019 northern headquarters, the Royal Liverpool University Hospital, the Clatterbridge Cancer Centre and the Rutherford Cancer Centre North West.<\/p>\n

The facility is set to transform cancer<\/a> care in the UK.<\/p>\n

The new diagnostics centre will be equipped with a range of services including\u00a0MRI, CT, PET and Ultrasound.<\/p>\n

Ron Russell, head of operations for Rutherford Diagnostics said: \u201cWe are building a centre that will, for many years, provide local people with access to cutting edge medical diagnostic technology which will have a real impact on health outcomes for the whole region.<\/p>\n

“The people we serve deserve nothing less than excellence and we are committed to delivering that in all aspects of our work.<\/p>\n

The work on the new diagnostics centre is already underway with the completion expected\u00a0Autumn next year.<\/p>\n
