{"id":48732,"date":"2018-11-07T11:03:03","date_gmt":"2018-11-07T11:03:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=48732"},"modified":"2018-11-07T11:03:03","modified_gmt":"2018-11-07T11:03:03","slug":"highway-england-8-7bn-framework","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/highway-england-8-7bn-framework\/48732\/","title":{"rendered":"Highways England reveal 13 contractors for \u00a38.7bn framework"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Highways England has announced a deal with 13 contractors to collaborate regionally to carry out up to \u00a38.7bn worth of work on England\u2019s motorways<\/h2>\n<p>The contracts come under the new \u2018Routes to Market Regional Delivery Partnership\u2019 which incentives companies to improve safety and reduce traffic delays on Highways England roads.<\/p>\n<h3>It contains incentives for results which include:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Shorter duration and more accurate management of roadworks to help drivers better plan their journeys and experience predictable journey times<\/li>\n<li>Buying more efficiently and buying locally \u2013 using the capability of a region to benefit the region<\/li>\n<li>Encouraging innovation, for example, lighting and signs designed to need less maintenance, reducing disruption and improving road worker safety<\/li>\n<li>Reduced road noise and increased environmental benefits<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/organisations\/highways-england\">Highways England<\/a> Chief Executive, Jim O\u2019Sullivan said: \u201cRoutes to Market represents a fundamental change in the way we deliver road projects.\u00a0 It will be performance rather than price based, focusing on building the right projects with the best outcomes for road users and the communities we serve.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt demands a major step up in our supply chain to embrace innovation and teamwork and in their ability to deliver value.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The 13 companies \u2013 known as Delivery Integration Partners \u2013 will develop, design and construct highway projects across England from 2019 through to 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Until now, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/highways-england-names-winners-in-resurfacing-framework\/41233\/\">Highways England<\/a> has procured work on a scheme by scheme basis. This new approach provides a secure pipeline of work, instilling confidence to invest in skills and employment.<\/p>\n<p>The work is arranged into 18 packages of schemes, awarded to contractors (delivery integration partners) in bands of up to \u00a3100m (lots 1 to 3) and over \u00a3100m (lots 4 to 8).<\/p>\n<h3>The chosen contractors for each lot are:<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Lot 1 \u2013 Southwest &amp; Midlands (worth \u00a3200m over the full term): <a href=\"https:\/\/www.osborne.co.uk\/\">Geoffrey Osborne<\/a>; and Griffiths\/Farrans Joint Venture \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Lot 2 \u2013 Southeast &amp; East (\u00a3350m): <a href=\"https:\/\/www.graham.co.uk\/\">John Graham Construction<\/a>; and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.volkerfitzpatrick.co.uk\/\">Volker Fitzpatrick<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Lot 3 \u2013 Northwest, Northeast, Yorkshire &amp; Humber (\u00a3200m): <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amey.co.uk\/\">Amey<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sir-robert-mcalpine.com\/\">Sir Robert McAlpine<\/a> Joint Venture; and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.northmid.co.uk\/\">North Midland Construction<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Lot 4 \u2013 South West (\u00a3800m): <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gallifordtry.co.uk\/contacts\/construction-infrastructure\">Galliford Try Infrastructure<\/a>; and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.taylorwoodrow.com\/\">Taylor Woodrow<\/a> (Vinci)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Lot 5 \u2013 Midlands (\u00a31250m): \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bamnuttall.co.uk\/\">BAM Nuttall<\/a>; and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.skanska.co.uk\/\">Skanska Construction UK<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Lot 6 \u2013 Southeast (\u00a31,100m): BAM Nuttall; and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.balfourbeatty.com\/\">Balfour Beatty Civil Engineering<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Lot 7 \u2013 East (\u00a32,800m): <a href=\"https:\/\/www.costain.com\/\">Costain<\/a>; Galliford Try Infrastructure; and Skanska Construction UK<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Lot 8 \u2013 Northwest, Northeast, Yorkshire &amp; Humber (\u00a32,000m): <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/highways-contract-telford-wreckin\/47759\/\">Balfour Beatty<\/a> Civil Engineering;
