The modular housebuilder aims to build 2000 new homes a year from its new factory in\u00a0Knaresborough<\/h2>\n

And plans are in place to scale up to produce 5,000 homes per year in the next five years.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The state-of-the-art factory uses modern methods of construction<\/a> to build eight modular homes every day and specialises in the latest off-site manufacturing techniques.The quality, energy efficient homes can be transported to developments across the country and constructed in significantly less time than it takes to build a home using traditional methods.Offsite construction speeds up the delivery process and provides housing to those who need it the most.<\/p>\n

Communities Secretary Rt Hon James Brokenshire officially opened the new site, which is set to create 750 new jobs.<\/p>\n

Mr Brokenshire took the opportunity to meet with the factory’s employees and viewed the manufacturing of modules at various stages of the construction flow-line.<\/p>\n

Commenting at the event, Mr Brokenshire said: “The precision engineered homes are assembled on a highly efficient flow line. Homes are fully mortgageable and tenure blind, being fully adaptable to both private market and housing association requirements for all forms of sale and rent<\/a>.”<\/p>\n

Homes will have flexible layouts with over 100 possible variations, from two-storey terraced houses to three-storey semi-detached properties, and blocks of flats of up to four storeys.<\/p>\n

Bj\u00f6rn Conway, CEO of ilke Homes said:\u00a0\u201cWe\u2019re proud to officially open our first house building factory in the UK; delivering much needed, energy-efficient housing that will assist developers, local councils and housing associations responding to the current housing shortage.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Government has called for the use of innovative new technology in the housebuilding industry in order to meet housing targets, and the modern methods of construction used to create our modular homes have been recognised as one of the most viable ways to do this.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve already got an established pipeline of 1,000 homes for 2019, and are working in partnership with local authorities, housing associations and developers to ensure that there is a steady supply of affordable housing available across the UK for those who need it most.\u201d<\/p>\n

In 2019, ilke Homes is launching its new apartment portfolio, offering partners a choice of two and half and three storey apartments over the next 12 months.<\/p>\n<\/article>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
