{"id":50932,"date":"2019-01-11T11:04:52","date_gmt":"2019-01-11T11:04:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=50932"},"modified":"2019-01-11T11:10:13","modified_gmt":"2019-01-11T11:10:13","slug":"bam-farrons-third-river-crossing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/bam-farrons-third-river-crossing\/50932\/","title":{"rendered":"BAM Farrans JV awarded contract for Third River Crossing"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>BAM Farrans joint venture has been awarded the contract for Great Yarmouth\u2019s Third River Crossing from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.norfolk.gov.uk\/\">Norfolk County Council<\/a><\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bamnuttall.co.uk\/\">BAM Nuttall<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.farrans.com\/\">Farrans Construction<\/a> are joining forces to work on the final design and construction of the Third River Crossing bridge, which will link the A47 at Harfrey\u2019s Roundabout on the western side of the river with South Denes Road and the port (including the outer harbour) and Enterprise Zone on the eastern side.<\/p>\n<p>Following a competitive tender process, BAM Farrans will now be working with the project team at the county council to finalise the detailed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/bim-news\/virtual-design-and-construction-and-its-applications-in-bim\/38208\/\">design and construction<\/a> requirements for the bridge.<\/p>\n<p>Councillor Martin Wilby, Chair of Norfolk County Council\u2019s Environment, Development and Transport Committee, says:\u00a0 \u201cI\u2019m delighted that we\u2019ll be working with BAM Farrans to bring the Third River Crossing to Great Yarmouth.\u00a0 This joint venture between two industry leaders means the project will benefit from a wealth of skills and knowledge, and an excellent track record of delivering<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/major-infrastructure-projects-transparency\/48178\/\"> large-scale infrastructure projects<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is an important milestone in our work to build the new bridge, which will bring far-reaching benefits to the town as well as Norfolk and the wider local, regional and national economy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>John Boal, BAM Nuttall\u2019s Divisional Director, Southern England &amp;
