Interserve<\/a> and Babcock & Wilcox<\/a> have announced they have handed over the Dunbar renewable energy plant project to Viridor Enviroscot<\/a><\/h2>\n

The Dunbar Energy Recovery Facility, a municipal waste-to-energy plant, in East Lothian, Scotland can process up to 38 tons of municipal waste per hour, delivering power to thousands of homes and businesses. It will contribute towards the Scottish Government\u2019s target of sending zero biodegradable municipal waste<\/a> to landfill by 2021.<\/p>\n

This project is one of four European renewable energy projects<\/a> \u00a0Babcock & Wilcox previously announced it expects to turn over to customers in the first and second quarters of 2019. The Dunbar project was referred to as the \u201csixth project\u201d in B&W\u2019s previous public disclosures about its European Renewable projects.<\/p>\n

Dougie Sutherland, executive director at Interserve, said: \u201cWe are pleased to have completed the Dunbar project and handed it over to our customer Viridor Enviroscot Ltd. This is an important milestone in the transformation of Interserve.\u201d<\/p>\n

B&W chief executive officer Kenneth Young commented: \u201cB&W\u2019s V\u00f8lund\u2019s advanced technology is proven and reliable for waste-to-energy customers worldwide and we\u2019re proud to have executed this important project for Viridor.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Dunbar facility, which features B&W V\u00f8lund\u2019s state-of-the-art DynaGrate\u00ae fuel combustion system, will be able to process up to 38 tons of municipal waste per hour, deliver power to thousands of local homes and businesses, and help the Scottish government meet its target of landfilling zero biodegradable municipal waste by 2021.\u201d<\/p>\n
