HS2 has revealed the construction teams that will be awarded contracts to build the London terminus at Euston and the west London super-hub at Old Oak Common<\/h2>\n

Work is already well underway on the HS2 project<\/a>, with more than 7,000 jobs already supported, both directly and across the UK-wide supply chain. In London, more than a thousand people are at work on site, clearing the way for the start of construction and delivering crucial pre-construction works, including HS2\u2019s pioneering archaeological programme.<\/p>\n

The station Construction Partners will be responsible for working with HS2 Ltd and the station designers, to coordinate the delivery of the station, including platforms, concourse and links to the London Underground and other rail services.<\/p>\n

Welcoming the news, HS2 Ltd Chief Executive, Mark Thurston, said: \u201cEuston and Old Oak Common are 2 of the most important elements of the project. Two landmark stations which will help unlock tens of thousands of jobs and new homes across the capital. Together with our Birmingham stations, they will transform the way we travel and set new standards for design, construction and operation.<\/p>\n

\u201cMace<\/a>\/Dragados<\/a> and Balfour Beatty<\/a>\/VINCI<\/a> have strong track records of delivering some of the world\u2019s most challenging and exciting infrastructure projects<\/a> and I look forward to welcoming them to the team.\u201d<\/p>\n

HS2 Minister, Nusrat Ghani, commented: \u201cEuston and Old Oak Common will be catalysts for real change and regeneration, driving forward growth in their local communities while providing better journeys for passengers.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am confident that these leading construction firms will deliver iconic stations that are safe, accessible and open to all.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jason Millett, Mace’s Chief Operating Officer added: \u201cWe are delighted by today\u2019s news. HS2 will transform Euston, delivering much-needed extra capacity and better journeys for the 44 million people that use the station every year. Mace’s experience across the whole property life-cycle and other major infrastructure\u00a0projects alongside Dragados’s world-class\u00a0high-speed rail expertise will fully be brought to bear on this complex project of national importance.<\/p>\n

\u201cWorking closely with the\u00a0HS2 team, we look forward \u00a0to working with local people and wider stakeholders to ensure that this project is delivered as effectively, efficiently and safely as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n

At Euston, HS2 will more than double capacity, to deal with increasing passenger demand while freeing up space on the west coast mainline for more freight and local and long-distance commuter services.<\/p>\n
