The Liberty Park development is set to create more than 700 new jobs, the scheme benefits from access by road and public transport located\u00a0next to Lichfield Trent Valley Railway\u00a0Station<\/h2>\n

The new units\u00a0will provide 115,000 sq ft and 48,000 sq ft of Grade A industrial\/logistics accommodation\u00a0with up to 230 combined car\u00a0parking spaces and 17 lorry spaces.<\/p>\n

Derbyshire-based G F Tomlinson<\/a> has been appointed as lead contractor and is\u00a0expected to complete work on the\u00a0new units\u00a0in October 2019.<\/p>\n

Development partners Liberty\u00a0Property Trust<\/a> and Stoford<\/a> staged an official groundbreaking ceremony at Liberty\u00a0Park, Lichfield attended by\u00a0representatives from Staffordshire County Council\u00a0and Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire Local Enterprise Partnership.<\/p>\n

Andrew Blevins<\/a>, managing director\u00a0of Liberty Property Trust\u2019s UK operation, said:\u00a0\u201cLiberty Park, Lichfield is an exciting\u00a0opportunity providing quality\u00a0industrial and logistics accommodation in a\u00a0superior A38 location, which is already proving attractive to occupiers.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tony\u00a0Nash<\/a>, director of Stoford Developments, said:\u00a0\u00a0\u201cWe are delighted to see work start on this major employment\u00a0project and are looking forward to\u00a0developing the scheme.\u201d<\/p>\n

Minister for Local Growth, Jake\u00a0Berry MP<\/a>, said: \u201cWe are committed to boosting economic growth across the whole\u00a0of the Midlands Engine and building a\u00a0country that works for everyone.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur \u00a34m Local Growth Fund\u00a0investment has paved the way for work to start on the development of Liberty\u00a0Park, funding the infrastructure works\u00a0necessary to open up this business park.\u00a0Once complete, this project will enable the people of Lichfield and the wider\u00a0Staffordshire area to benefit from\u00a0the creation of more than 700 jobs, as well\u00a0as a new investment site that will attract more businesses to the area.\u201d<\/p>\n

Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire\u00a0Local Enterprise Partnership chairman, David Frost CBE commented: \u201cThese essential infrastructure improvements opening up Liberty Park\u00a0got our Growth Deal plans off to a\u00a0flying start.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe success of this project is\u00a0a real boost to our package of strategic industrial and commercial developments<\/a>\u00a0that are raising our profile\u00a0nationally and internationally and driving\u00a0economic growth across our area, from i54 in the south to Ceramic Valley in the\u00a0north.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are delighted to see that our\u00a0ambitions to create more and better jobs benefitting local communities are\u00a0bearing fruit. Showpiece projects such as\u00a0Liberty Park illustrate the development benefits\u00a0of working in partnership with the private sector and local authorities and\u00a0demonstrate that our region is very much\u00a0open for business.\u201d<\/p>\n

Staffordshire County Council\u2019s\u00a0transport leader, Helen Fisher<\/a> added: \u201cWe\u2019re pleased to see development get\u00a0under way at Liberty Park as it presents the\u00a0county with another prime\u00a0investment site with superb connectivity where we will see more jobs created.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe county council, working on\u00a0behalf of the Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire Local Enterprise Partnership,\u00a0created access to the site with the new\u00a0road bridge over the West Coast\u00a0Mainline. This was a complicated engineering project of which we\u2019re proud as it\u00a0will pave the way for in the region of\u00a0700 jobs.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe project has been further\u00a0demonstration of how public and private sectors have worked together to deliver\u00a0results. It is also another\u00a0example of the county council and partners laying\u00a0the foundations for growth<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

The development is situated\u00a0approximately 16 miles north of Birmingham, providing speedy access to the A38\u00a0and the M6 Toll (Junctions T4 and T5).<\/p>\n

The site is a minute\u2019s walk from Lichfield\u00a0Trent Valley train station, with mainline links to London and cross-country\u00a0links on the Midland\u2019s rail network.\u00a0Local occupiers include DHL, Newell\u00a0Rubbermaid, Florette, Tesco and Palletways.<\/p>\n

Liberty Park, Lichfield, has been\u00a0backed by \u00a34m funding through the Government\u2019s Growth Deal and was the\u00a0first such project to get underway in\u00a0Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent. The\u00a0funding is part of an \u00a3128m package of major Growth Deal projects being\u00a0delivered across Stoke-on-Trent\u00a0and Staffordshire by the local enterprise partnership.<\/p>\n
