{"id":54340,"date":"2019-03-21T10:20:40","date_gmt":"2019-03-21T10:20:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=54340"},"modified":"2019-03-21T10:30:14","modified_gmt":"2019-03-21T10:30:14","slug":"infrastructure-requirements-at-oxford-station","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/infrastructure-requirements-at-oxford-station\/54340\/","title":{"rendered":"WSP to examine infrastructure requirements at Oxford Station"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Engineering and professional services consultancy, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsp.com\/\">WSP<\/a>, has been appointed by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lakenheath.af.mil\/\">East West Railway Company<\/a> to study the infrastructure requirements for an increased train service in and out of Oxford station<\/h2>\n<p>WSP will examine the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/regeneration-infrastructure-2019\/53274\/\">infrastructure<\/a> require to allow four trains per hour to run to and from Oxford Station, in addition to the two Chiltern trains which currently run into Oxford per hour from London Marylebone.<\/p>\n<p>This supports the East West Railway Company\u2019s plans for new passenger services between Oxford and Cambridge, serving Bletchley, Milton Keynes, Bedford and the communities\u2019 in-between for the first time since 1967.<\/p>\n<p>The capacity study undertaken by<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/new-transport-strategy-tfse\/50497\/\"> WSP will recommend<\/a> ways in which the infrastructure could support these new services.
